Autobiographical Dreams
I sat and watched the lifeless sky,
I watched it split all cracked and dry.
I watched the things I always loved
come tumbling from the world above.
I watched it crash- the ground went red.
I watched my life go through my head.
I watched the people I’ll always know,
Trickle down as fleshy snow.
They crashed and popped, they bled and cried.
Their fickle profession- I heard; they died.
“Someone save us, do what you can.”
“There’s no point in crying- we’re already dead.”
I sat and watched the lifeless sky,
I watched it split and wondered why,
I wondered why I couldn’t cry.
When those I loved began to die.
